Writing For Money – Avoid Writing Scams

797px-Typewriter_adler3Have you been the victim of a writing scam? Don’t feel bad. You often need to be burned once or twice before you become wary, so look on it as the price of experience.
Sometimes I hesitate about writing more about writing scams, because it gives new writers the wrong idea.
Please realize that most of your potential clients are honest: they have projects they want completed and they want them completed with the least amount of hassle. They’ll pay you well and will treat you well.
A small number of clients however are not legitimate. They’re cheats and scam artists and they infest the writing world as they do the rest of life.
Here are five tips to help you to protect yourself:
1. Google is your friend
Google everyone. It’s simple to do, takes just moments, and if the person or company doesn’t exist on Google be extremely wary.
2. You need writing credits and feedback
(Writing credits are published writing for which you’ve been paid.)
Credits and feedback ensure your potential buyers that YOU’RE not scammer: they assure your buyers of your credibility.
Therefore, make getting those credits a priority, and understand that buyers will be wary before you get them. Don’t worry if you’re receiving little or no pay for your first few writing jobs: until you have credits, you’re an unknown quantity, and your buyers are taking a risk.
Here’s why credits and feedback are important: scammers target NEW writers, they don’t bother with experienced pros, because they know they’d get short shrift.
3. Ask questions
Scammers hate questions. Asking questions is a good habit to get into – whenever you find a writing job you may be interested in, ask questions even if the brief seems very clear to you. The response – both in its tone and in its content, as well as the speed of the response – will tell you what this company will be like to work with.
4. You live and die by your writing contract
People give you money and you give them writing. A simple transaction, yes? Nine times out of 10 it will be. The tenth time you’ll bless your contract.
Always use a contract, and attach your rewritten version of the brief (project description) to the contract. I always advise my writing students to rewrite the brief. You rewrite the brief so that you understand it completely, and so that your client knows that you understand it. You’re both on the same page, so to speak.
5. Get a retainer or deposit
Always get a retainer. This is a deposit on the work you’re going to do. Normally the retainer will be 50%.
Should new writers asked for a retainer? Yes you should. Getting a deposit allows you to sort the sheep from the goats. Talk is always cheap, but when someone puts their money where their mouth is you know that you’ve got a genuine buyer and not a scammer.

DOES A JUDGE IN THE UNIFIED COURTS IN NEW YORK HAVE THE UNFETTERED LAWLESSNESS TO LIE, CHEAT, PLUNDER, COLLUDE, ENGAGE IN GROSS NEGLIGENCE, TAMPER WITH RECORDS, ACCEPT FAVORS AND BRIBES, MAKE “BACK-ROOM” DEALS AND ENGAGE IN RAMPANT UNETHICAL ACTS, ALL WITHOUT A SHRED OF SUPERVISION OR OVERSEEING. THE DRUM BEATS LOUDER AS THE CORRUPTION AND TRICKERY BECOMES MORE RAMPANT

crazy-judgeThe Unified Courts In New York State has been forever a cesspool of unethical activities, bribery and collusion. Sadly, there are many honest and qualified Judges but they are polluted by the “bad-eggs” who are appointed by the back room political bosses or their machines, and who have “paid-to-play”. Yes, often these culprits buy the “appointments” and pay the bribe over the time of the “appointment”.

It is a lucrative role. Once donning the Black-Robes” the Judge can offer to the select few with “access” the pay-off Menu. Corrupt lawyers want a fixed Court and if you are on the “short-end” look-out.

These sociopath Judges who are liars and corrupted graft-takers have no conscience, and they will take the fix into their Court and commence to rob and plunder the sucker on the skewer. No matter if it is your home, your business, your money, your kids, your wife or even your liberty, these unethical and reckless polluted judges will rape and skin you.

Scams Inc is completing a full expose with names, cases, judges lawyers clients who have bribed, been bribed, fixed tampered committed perjury and condoned by a corrupted judge and how the bribery and fix is performed, orchestrated and covered up.

The Unified Courts in NYC has some very bad-eggs in it along with some very fine hard working judges. The Bad-ass ones are worse than the Mafia. They are spiteful, vicious and corrupt to the core. Many have been engaged in these thefts and looting for years, hiding their ill-gotten gaing in safety-boxes, off shore or in other ingenious places that we will reveal—-including fancy dental work, mortgage payments “under-the table”, gold coins and much more.

Even the big Firms are afraid of the “Unified Court Mafia”, and cow-tow to the unethical acts and turn a blind eye to it rather than put a stop to these amoral acts causing legitimate litigants severe pain, loss and suffering.

These sociopath corrupt judges will continue to thumb their nose at the rules of law until they ar weeded out and made an example of. Many are trying now on the Federal Level and certain Federal Judges have “stepped-up to the plate” stating that the Judgship selections in New York are “farcical and a joke”. The New York manner of Judgeship Selections breed corruption that is sadly rampant and ignored by a “Broken-System” Polluted with a lust for a free-lunch and looting—ignoring the Rules of Law and ignoring the United States Constitution. Pathetic? Yes.

With New York Apartments selling for $100Million are Citizens not entitled to pray for a Honorable and Uncorrupted Courthouse in “The Big Apple”?
